Fannin or Dall Sheep Hunt, Yukon:

Sharon Jensen has had a cancellation, and just like a couple of years ago, is working with us to offer it to our members as an internet auction hunt. It is a fantastic hunt for a Fannin or Dall sheep. Pete Jensen Outfitting takes over 60% Fannin rams from its area, and of course the Fannin is considered a Stone sheep for the Grand Slam®. A caribou may be taken on this hunt for a trophy fee of $4,500, and even a grizzly for $6,500. Everything is included for this hunt upon arrival in Dawson City, Yukon, except license, tags, and the small mandatory government trophy fees. All in all, this is a pretty fabulous hunting opportunity.

 

 

This is a 10-day hunt scheduled for August 12-21, 2011. It cannot be delayed, and those bidding need to understand they have to be available for THESE DATES. Sharon and her late husband Pete have been outfitting for well over 40 years and have consistently produced for their clients. The photo of Ed Yates and his Fannin you see here is a good illustration of the type sheep they get.
At the 2009 GSCO convention, Pete Jensen was honored as our Living Legend. He and Sharon certainly earned that distinction as the longest-standing sheep outfitters ever. Pete passed away immediately after our 2010 convention, but Sharon and her long-term guides keep the Pete Jensen Outfitting tradition going. Sharon, of course, has been right there as a partner in the operation for most of those 40-plus years as well.

All reasonable bidders will be contacted by email Wendesday July 13, 2011 announcing the current high bid amount. Each bidder will then have the opportunity to submit an additional bid. A second and final email will be sent approximately one hour before auction close, again announcing the current high bid. All bidders may then submit their final bid before auction close.

Bidding will close at noon, Friday July 15, 2011. (Central Time) The high bidder will be contacted by phone immediately after the auction closes and will also be posted on the GSCO web site.
