10-Day Winter Mountain Goat Hunt
with option to add up to three wolves for trophy fee
McConnell & Company Guiding Services

goatGrand Slam Club / Ovis is pleased to offer this amazing hunt to our internet family.  This is not your run-of-the-mill mountain goat hunt! First of all, it will be conducted in the northern BC coastal mountains. The coast has always been known for REALLY BIG GOATS! Next, it is a WINTER HUNT. During the winter months, goats are found much lower on the mountains, as they descend out of the alpine into cliffs located among the heavy timber. These winter goats are often taken near the valley floor.gaot 2

The hunter will travel the valley using snow machines to access the various bluff systems the goats call home for the winter. Once an ideal billy is located with the binoculars or spotting scope, you will strap on snowshoes and follow your outfitter/guide up a snow-formed staircase as you ascend towards your trophy. Despite the late season, many hunters are surprised to learn that it is often so warm they can hunt in their shirt sleeves as the sun is providing a lot of heat by February. The weather is often clear & sunny with temperatures ranging from 15 to 20F at night and 40F+ during the day.

So, now you know that this hunt is for a heavy winter coat true trophy class goat. You also know that the hunts are conducted at a much lower elevation and you even get to travel by snow machine. By now you should begin to realize that this particular hunt is indeed special. Brian McConnell only gets two of these special winter goat permits per year. As an added bonus, wolves can be targeted after the goat hunt is completed and for only a trophy fee of $1,000 each. Up to three wolves may be taken.

Brian McConnell's clients take some exceptional trophies every year, many of which result in Boone & Crockett class. He runs a year round, full time operation that allows him to be out among the animals most of the time. Brian is a very experienced goat guide/outfitter, having guided & outfitted dozens of successful goat hunts. Several GSCO members have hunted with Brian. Why not let the next adventure be yours?

At the hunter's option, dates can be scheduled between December 10-24, 2010 OR the first two weeks of February 2011

Value: $10,000

Important: High bidder must pay the outfitter a trophy fee of $5,000 after the goat is taken. Bonus: Up to three wolves can be taken for a trophy fee of $1,000 each, payable to the outfitter after taken.
