Colorado Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep License

rocky mountain bighornGSCO is honored to have been chosen once again to auction the 2008 Colorado Rocky Mtn. bighorn sheep license. The 2008 Colorado bighorn license is an even greater opportunity, since the season will now run from August 1 all the way through December 31, 2008. This is two months longer than ever before. The Rocky Mtn. Bighorn Society (RMBS) lobbied hard to extend the season for the auction licenses, to increase the value of the opportunity. This will allow the high bidder to hunt in units that would have been closed otherwise if dates chosen to hunt conflicted with published unit season dates. The high bidder will be allowed to hunt in any unit that is open for hunting. There will be no restrictions on dates, and this will allow the high bidder to be practically the only hunter in the field for most units if a later time is chosen. Be aware that this license cannot be used for any desert sheep unit. Amazingly, it can be either sex, but we doubt if the high bidder will be interested in a ewe! There will be a representative from RMBS and/or the Colorado Division of Wildlife available at our auction to give even more specifics on this particular hunt. GSCO is pleased to be able to offer back 90% of the high bid to Colorado sheep and goat management. Colorado has done an exemplary job in the management of its wildlife. Guiding is not provided; this will be the license only, and it is non-transferable. It must be issued to the highest bidder at auction. The high bidder may give the license to another person as a gift, but cannot sell it. The license can be transferred in the event of death or medical incapacity if authorized by the Director. We will be maintaining a record of the second highest bidder, and should default occur with the high bidder, the second highest bidder will be deemed the high bidder and receive the license. Phone bidders and proxy bidders will be allowed if arrangements are made in advance. Please bid high to take advantage of this opportunity to not only hunt in one of the most beautiful states of our nation, but to be able to support conservation as well. (There have been great rams taken in Colorado over many years, and many more great ones will be available to the high bidder.)

Value:
2005 high bid was $65,000;
2006 high bid was $60,000;
2007 high bid was $92,500;
Highest bid ever was $93,000 in 1999. However, none of these license holders were able to hunt the last two months of the year and in any unit that had been opened to hunting. What could the value be now?
